Social Security Disability Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits are available to individuals who cannot maintain substantially gainful employment due to physical or mental injuries, regardless of how those injuries were sustained. In order to be eligible for benefits, the individual must have worked and paid taxes for at least 20 quarters (5 years) within the previous 10 years leading up to the date they are no longer able to work.

If an individual does not meet this threshold, but cannot maintain substantial gainful employment due to physical or mental injuries, he or she still may be entitled to Supplemental Security Income (SSI), depending on their household income.
